Two arrested after OAP killed in hit-and-run

TWO men have been arrested after a hit-and-run incident in Weston last night, which left an 80-year-old man dead.

The men, both aged 47, were taken into custody yesterday (Monday) and are now being questioned.

The incident occurred on Clevedon Road at about 4pm, and saw the elderly pedestrian killed at the scene.

The car – a dark-coloured hatchback – failed to stop at the scene, and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police have not yet released the man’s identity.
