TWO men have been arrested following drugs raids today (Wed).

The Weston pair, both aged 24, were caught with Class B drugs.

Police officers carried out a drugs warrant at Lauross Apartments in Winterstoke Road and found two bags of cannabis, worth an estimated £100. A man was given a police warning for possessing Class B drugs.

A second man was arrested following door-to-door enquiries. He was arrested on suspicion of possession Class B drugs with intent to supply after officers found 10 cannabis plants and vegetable matter.

He lived in the same block of flats as the first man but at a different address.

PC Steve Wakefield said: “Cannabis is seen by some as a lower level drug, but Avon and Somerset police take it very seriously - targeting and disrupting its cultivation and links with serious and organised crime.

“We work hard to target drug-related crime in Weston, and would ask anyone with information about drug cultivation or drug supply in their neighbourhood to report it by calling the new police non-emergency telephone number 101.”
