POLICE officers arrested two people and seized what is believed to be cocaine after carrying out a home search.

Neighbourhood officers from the Bournville and Oldmixon One Team searched the property in Weston Village on Friday under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

They found white powder and arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

He was later released on police bail pending further enquiries, while a woman arrested at the address at the same time was given street bail, to be questioned at a later date.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Colin Batchelor said: “This action is just the latest in our ongoing operation to reduce and disrupt dealers’ activities and improve life for everyone.

“It’s just part of our work as the One Team. We know that drug supply can be behind problems with crime and antisocial behaviour and we’re working towards longer term solutions for our communities.”

These arrests are the latest in the One Team’s operation to target suspected drug dealers on the estates.
