TWO men from North Somerset have been arrested for theft as part of Operation Relentless.

James Kew, aged 21, from Cleeve was arrested for two counts of theft from a motor vehicle on September 11.

A 31-year-old man from Backwell was also arrested for theft from a motor vehicle on September 12, before being released on police bail.

Since the launch of Relentless on Monday there have been more than 60 arrests across Avon and Somerset for burglary, robbery and theft of and from motor vehicles.

Inspector Tim Coombe said: “I would like to remind local motorists to lock their cars when left unattended, even for a short period of time or if they are parked on your driveway at home.

“Thieves will break your window for just a small amount of loose change, so remove all valuables, such as satellite navigation systems and sun glasses, even if you are only leaving them unattended for a short amount of time.”
