Two people killed in Winscombe car crash named as police issue fresh appeal for information

Two people who were killed in a car crash in Winscombe have today (Tuesday) been named, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Debra Vearncombe, aged 50, and Phillip Vearncombe, aged 54, died on June 5 after a silver Mitsubishi Outlander and a blue Vauxhall Mokka collided on a bend on the A38, just before 6pm.

Mr Vearncombe was driving the Vauxhall, and Ms Vearncombe was the passenger and pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Vearncombe later died of his injuries, after being taken to hospital.

The driver of the silver Mitsubishi was also in hospital.

Police are asking anyone with information, or who saw either of the vehicles, to call 101 and ask for the Collision Investigation Unit, quoting the reference number 5217126242.
