University Centre Weston (UCW) graduates will represent the town at the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe festival this summer.

The Performing Arts degree students have formed their own theatre companies to devise, produce and promote three shows, and will perform 21 times at the Greenside @ Infirmary Street venue in August.

The group have set up a fundraising page to cover their marketing, transport and living expenses and will stage four free performances of the shows across North Somerset in September if they hit their £11,962 target.

More than £10,000 has been raised so far with the deadline set for July 29.

Graduate Joe Brooks said:
“We hope these shows will delight audiences in Edinburgh and also show off the vibrant cultural scene we have here in Weston.”
