More than 500 students will graduate from University Centre Weston (UCW) tomorrow (Saturday), and people have been encouraged to join in with the celebrations.

The graduating class of 2018 have achieved the university’s best-ever set of results, and the ceremony will be shown live on big screens in the Italian Gardens.

UCW’s students will take part in a procession from Knightstone Road to St John’s Church, in Lower Church Road, where the graduation will take place.

The graduates and more than 1,500 guests will also celebrate with drinks in the Winter Gardens.

The principal and chief executive of the Weston College Group, Dr Paul Phillips, said: “We’re planning wonderful celebrations which will be worthy of the dedication and achievements of our graduates, and I’m so pleased our community and also people all over the world will be able to enjoy the day.

“Our results continue to get better and we are investing more in higher education in Weston, so this is a fitting way to mark another fantastic year for UCW.”

People can also watch the graduation on a live stream through UCW’s Facebook page.
