UPDATE: Police appeal after arson attack on part-built homes

POLICE have launched an appeal after a fire caused 'significant' damage to houses still being built in Weston.

Firefighters and police were called to Haywood Village, Weston-super-Mare just before 10.30pm last night (Thursday).

A spokesman from Avon Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was started ‘deliberately’.

The police has now launched an appeal for information.

A spokesman from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “On-site security staff spotted three youths making off from the area.”
