POLICE have confirmed the body found on Weston beach on Saturday was a man in his 20s and the death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

POLICE have confirmed the body found on Weston beach on Saturday was a man in his 20s and the death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’.

The body was discovered on Saturday morning on the sands by Knightstone Island and police cordoned off parts of the pavement along Knightstone Causeway.

A statement released by Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “At around 6.20am we were informed that the body of a man in his 20s had been found on Knightstone Causeway.

“The area has been cordoned off and enquiries are being completed to establish the circumstances of this man’s death. At this stage we are treating the death as unexplained.

“The man is wearing a red, black and white checked shirt, blue jeans and black shoes with a white trim.

“Anyone who recognises the description of this clothing or has more information about the incident should contact police on 101.”
