‘Great community spirit’ was on display at the 70th annual Uphill village show, says show secretary Susan Andrews.

Competitions, flower displays and crafts were among the events on offer on July 29-30.

Hundreds of entries were accepted for the flower show and children’s competition. Four-year-old Grace took home the prize for her drawing.

The show also featured Weston-super-Mare’s own Shaun the Sheep and a display of scarecrows ahead of the festival in September.

Susan Andrews said: “The many visitors clearly enjoyed themselves and there was a great atmosphere in the hall.”
