Hannah Small, who lives in Weston, was one of thousands of applicants who drew a picture of what she wanted to see at the Sand Sculpture Festival on the town’s beach.

Her winning design, Vampire Rabbits from Uranus, was made by Rachel Stubbs using 20 tonnes of sand and is now part of the exhibition.

Cindy Lap, the festival’s project manager, said: “It was almost impossible to pick a winner, the standard was so high. I think Weston has some budding artists.”

Hannah’s design will remain part of the festival until it ends on September 30.
