WHETHER bright sunshine or heavy rain, runners were still out in force raising money for a cancer charity.
Runners in Weston were donning their shoes and breaking sweat for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
Saturday saw about 460 runners on the longer race running the 10k race along the beach in the glorious sunshine.
The run started and finished on the beach but took in the outskirts of Weston including Uphill Village.
On Sunday, around 1,800 participants ran the traditional 5k route up and down the beach in the lashing rain.
Area event manager for the South West, Lisa Sweeting said: “It is great for people to support it.
“We try and get more and more people year on year to get involved with the race.
“It is nice to be on the beach for the charities only beach-based race for life run.”
The charities target was to raise £350,000 for the Weston race over both days.
