BARB Search and Rescue crews in Burnham-on-Sea were on hand to free a 4x4 vehicle which got stuck in the mud today (Sunday).

The call for help was made at around 3.40pm this afternoon and BARB volunteers were assisted by Burnham’s coastguards and a tractor from Burnham Boat Owners.

Spades and boards were used to free the vehicle and it was pulled out soon afterwards.

BARB has advised drivers not to drive into areas of soft sand and mud. It also said it is best to stay on the hard sand at the top of the beach.

The driver thanked crews for their help in rescuing the vehicle.
