Police have launched an investigation after a Volkswagen Golf and camper van were targeted by the offenders in
Summer Lane.

The entrance to the adjacent business unit was also affected by the fire, which took place some time between 4.30pm on Saturday and 12.45am on Sunday.

Two Avon Fire and Rescue crews from Weston called to the scene used hose reels to extinguish the flames.

The owner did not wish to comment on the attack, but an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the fire was judged to be deliberate.

The business unit is one of several in the yard fenced off by a coded steel gate at the entrance.

The police spokesman said enquiries were ongoing and appealed to anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area at the time to call Weston police station on 0845 4567000.
