RESIDENTS in Banwell will not be hit by a big rise in their council tax after the parish council voted to freeze its precept.
Although the precept will be frozen, in real terms it will rise slightly, from £57,805 to £58,010.
The decision was taken at a special meeting of Banwell Parish Council on January 5, and unanimously approved at its full meeting on Monday.
The budget for the year 2012/13, means that the annual band D council tax charge will be £52.51 per household – a rate of slightly more than £1 a week.
