FREE-CYCLING could be the alternative way to shop in Wedmore.Wedmore Green Group is hoping to launch a 'free-cycle' event next year, in order to save unwanted goods from the scrap heap. The day will run like a car boot sale, but everything will be free. Bargain-hunters will be able to bring along their unwanted items and trade them with other people's second-hand goodies. Steve Mewes, a member of the group, said: "Free-cycling is already very popular in Germany, and we hope it will become a monthly event."The Green Group is backing the idea as it stops people's rubbish ending up in landfills and encourages more residents to consume less. It is hoped to run it on the village recreation ground starting next Spring.
