Blagdon Weston Hospicecare Support Group held its Easter fair at the village club on Saturday.

The group raised £720 for the hospice, which specialises in end-of-life care.

The fair featured plenty of delicious treats and pretty crafts.

Organiser Tina Smith said: “It went quite well.

“We had our ladies who knit. They made lots of rabbits with Easter eggs in them which were really popular.

“It’s amazing how the money mounts up.”

Ms Smith said the hospice is a worthy cause.

She told the Mercury: “It’s an amazing place. They support all of the family in the last days and afterwards.

“They make the best of the days people have left and they try to make it a happy place. They also do great work in the community.”
