UPHILL Village Society is asking residents to help draw up a village plan to stop any unwanted developments in the area
UPHILL Village Society is asking residents to help draw up a village plan to stop any unwanted developments in the area. The society is asking residents to send in suggestions on how they would like to see the village develop in the future. Some ideas which have already been sent in include suggestions for a youth club, more amenities in the village and traffic and parking problems were also mentioned. Society chair, Stewart Castle, said: "We missed the boat a few years ago when villages started doing plans. It would have benefited the village before some of the more modern developments sprang up and that's partly why we're doing it. We are trying to protect the village and stop it from growing in an inappropriate and damaging way with buildings and community life."The group is asking people to send in suggestions and anyone interesting in helping to draw up the plan will be asked to become part of a working party to drive the project forward.Anyone interesting in sending in a suggestion can email Stewart Castle on society@uphillvillage.org.uk or ring 01934 415581.
