PREPARATIONS are well underway for the Weare Street Fair, which will take place on June 25.

The fair, which has been organised by the Friends of Weare Church, will be on in the centre of the village from 12noon-5pm, with funds going towards renovating St Gregory’s Church.

As well as a variety of different stalls, a wedding-themed flower festival will be taking place in the church, alongside musical accompaniment, while a concert featuring local musicians such as the Axbridge Singers starts in the church at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the concert cost £6 for adults, and £3 for children under 13, and are available by calling 01934 732413.

Stalls for the fair can be hired at a price of £10 for locals and charities, and £20 for commercial concerns, and can be booked by phoning 01937 732731, or from Lunn’s service station on the A38 between Weare and Cross.
