HUTTON is gearing up for a busy programme of events due to take place in the village.

Starting on August 29 with the Taste Of Somerset show, the village will host six events within the space of five days.

The show – part of a district-wide festival of events – will be held in the main marquee in St Mary’s Field off St Marys Road from 11am-6pm and will feature stalls showcasing a wide variety of local produce.

The following night the 1940s night, featuring music by Boulevard Swing, will be held at the same venue from 7.30-11.30pm.

The optional dress-code is the 1940s.

Tickets, priced £10, are available from the parish office on 01934 813871 between 10am and 1pm.

On September 1 the village horticultural show will be held in the marquee from 2-5pm.

There will be sideshows, a tombola and children’s entertainment throughout the day. That evening, the marquee will send guests back to the swinging sixties at it hosts the village 1960s night.

With music from The Ivy League and The Bula Bula Big Band, it will run from 8pm to midnight.

A songs of praise event will be held the following morning in the marquee at 9.30am, before the annual proms concert rounds off the week at 7.30pm.
