Village set for Fun Olympics

A VILLAGE will hold a Fun Olympics series of events from Friday until June 8 offering competitive, fun sports and games for youngsters and adults across the village.

Shipham Fun Olympics, organised by resident Mark Trenchard, will be opened on Friday with a first round of outdoor table tennis tournaments being held over the weekend.

There will also be pub games at The Miners Arms in The Square in Shipham on Sunday at 7.30pm.

The finals will be held on July 8 at the village hall in New Road from 10am-6.30pm, with a bake-off, badminton, Scrabble finals, games console competitions and Gaelic games, with medals presented to winning children at 5.30pm.
