TRADITIONAL maypole dancing and circus displays will be on offer at Winscombe’s May fair this weekend.

The event will be held in Old Station Green on Saturday from 1.45pm onwards.

Former Time Team archaeologist Professor Mick Aston will open the event at 2pm, and it will feature maypole dancing, a display by Firestar Circus Arts and a workshop for youngsters, as well as music, stalls and games.

If the weather on the day is too wet then the event will instead be held in the community centre in Sandford Road.
