A village is backing a national campaign to get people out and about cleaning up their communities.

Uphill Village Society is looking for volunteers to take part in an organised litter-pick around the village on March 4.

Society chairman Stewart Castle said: “The Great British Spring Clean is about everyone working together to clean up the litter which blights our landscape and communities.

“We are delighted to be taking part and bringing people together to tackle an issue many people care passionately about.”

Volunteers should meet at the Church Copse, in Uphill Road South, or at the Wharf car park, in Uphill Way, at 10am.
