LADIES in Mark are set to say goodbye to the village's Women's Institute branch, which is set to close after 82 years.

But there are hopes that a younger generation will take on the mantel of the departing committee, with an option open to re-start the club in the next three years with leftover funds of £400.

The ladies will meet up for a last end of season meal in Mark Church Hall later this month.

Anyone interested in re-starting Mark WI should contact president Moya Harris on 01278 641223 or the WI county office in Taunton on 01823 284261.
