Villager dies after freak helicopter crash

A WELL-KNOWN businessman from North Somerset has died in a helicopter crash.

Chris Watts, of Redhill, died on Sunday after the aircraft he was flying crashed just south of Bude, in Cornwall.

Fire crews were called to the scene to extinguish the fire within the wreckage and the incident was handed over to the police.

Chris, aged 45, was a well-know farmer and businessman who owned ACF Hospitality events company in Redhill.

The Mercury had recently reported on his vineyard and winery plans.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch is looking into the incident.
