People in three villages who are struggling living with financial problems are being urged to apply for a small cash grant over the next few weeks.

The trustees of the Yatton United Charities is offering aid to financially-stricken people living in either Claverham, Cleeve or Yatton.

A spokesman for the initiative said: “This includes the elderly, children, students, people with disabilities, learning difficulties, and people experiencing a sudden emergency in their life, for example through illness.”

Application forms should be submitted by August 31 and the grants will be paid out by mid-September at the latest.

However, emergency grants can be made at any time if the situation requires more urgent help.

The grant application forms can be picked up from the charities’ clerk Alison Storm by calling her on 01934 833547.

Alternatively, a copy can be obtained by emailing her at alisonstormuk@yahoo.co.uk
