Campaigners calling for safety improvements to be made to a Somerset road have held a pub walk to highlight the dangers.
Coffin Lane campaigners, who are calling for a footpath to be extended along the A371 between Axbridge and Compton Bishop, invited Somerset County Councillor Bob Filmer on a walk between New Inn in Cross and The Lamb in Axbridge.

Tess Gill, campaign co-ordinator, said: “Walking along the narrow uneven verge of Cross Lane made clear to Bob why we are pressing for urgent work on a safe footpath along Cross Lane to avoid walkers, including families with buggies, endangering themselves by walking too close to traffic.
“With Bob’s assistance, Somerset County Council is finalising plans to build a pedestrian refuge on the A38 to allow safe crossing and construct a safe path along the verge to the entrance to the public right of way across the fields.”
