ANYONE wanting to do their bit for the community is urged to attend a local action team's AGM next month.
Cheddar Local Action Team (LAT) will hold the meeting on February 4 in Hannah More Cottage in Lower North Street at 7.30pm.
Representatives from the district council, parish council and the police all work with the LAT to make Cheddar a safer and better place to live.
The main project the LAT is working on is to build a skate park for youngsters in Sharpham Road playing fields and the team has submitted plans to the parish council prior to applying for planning permission.
The group also runs a drop-in centre for young people in the village on Tuesday nights and now full-time youth workers from Somerset Youth Service are helping organise activities and games.
LAT chairman Jill Male said: "The Methodist Church and the Cheddar Vale Lions Club have both been very supportive of the drop-in sessions.
"We are looking for more people to join our committee to help make a difference in Cheddar."
Anyone interested in joining the LAT can call Stephanie on 01934 741192 or go along to the AGM.
