ROLLS Royces, vintage Austins and even a tank-like armoured car were on show at a vintage vehicle show held to raise money for a village church.

Visitors also had the chance to ring the church bells at St Peter and All Hallows Church in Church Road, West Huntspill, while the classic cars lined up in a field just off the road.

There was also a barbecue, refreshments and a live organ performance available on the day as well as a bouncy castle and about 25 stalls.

The event raised more than £2,000 for the church and its community hall. The cash will be spent on maintaining the 13th century building, which is often used for community events and performances by the West Hunstpill Players.

Chairman of the West Huntspill classic and vintage vehicle show, Jill Woolley, said: “We are very pleased with how the day went, and the weather helped tremendously. People were stopping to look at the armoured car in particular as it drove in.”
