A MOTHER and her daughter will walk Weston beach at midnight to pay tribute to and help raise funds for a hospice.Vita Austin says the service she was offered by Weston Hospicecare while she was being treated for breast cancer completely changed her perception of hospices. To help make sure the charity can carry on helping people Vita and her eight-year-old daughter Claire will be raising money for the hospice in the Midnight Beach Walk on September 15.Vita, who lives in Hutton and works as a company secretary for an insurance broker, said: "During my treatment I was offered three 'Time for You' days at the hospice and it was then that I realised how much the charity has to offer."It has totally changed my perception of hospices. They offer services for those undergoing treatment and patient's families, as well as for in-patients and those who have non-curative illnesses."I'm taking part in the walk with my daughter to give something back to the hospice and to try and make people aware of the different services hospices offer patients and their families."The women only sponsored five mile event will follow a circular route from Uphill to Marine Lake and back again and will start at midnight.Hospice fund-raiser Penny Beare said: "It's a women-only walk to encourage people of all ages and abilities to come together to show support for their local hospice and remember their loved ones."For more details or to register to take part, call 01934 423960 or visit the website www.westonhospicecare.org.uk/midnightbeachwalk
