Weston-super-Mare's Vogue Twirlers become national champions

A Weston-super-Mare twirling group has been crowned national champions.
The Vogue Twirlers ended their season travelling to Torbay for the week-long National Baton Twirling Association National Championships.
The troupe returned with 70 top six awards including 21 first places, 10 second places and 15 third places.
The Twirlers received the championship titles in a number of categories, including the Junior Twirl Team and the Pee Wee Dance Formation categories.
On the final night of competition, two of the group were awarded Perpetual awards with Charlotte Howard winning the Ron Stiff shield for best champion in the military strut section.
Ebony Taiwo was awarded the honour for the most promising beginner dance soloist.
The group is always looking to raise funds to go towards competitions.
