VOLUNTEERS are needed to make sure popular Brownies groups in North Somerset don’t fold.

There are spaces for several Girlguiding leaders in Weston and Bleadon, and division commissioner Sue Vickey is urging anyone interested in joining the movement to contact her.

She said: “It is very worthwhile becoming part of Girlguiding UK and we hope people who can spare some time will come forward.”

In North Somerset, there are around 800 girls in rainbows, brownies or guides, and about 80-90 leaders.

All volunteers will be given full training and they will have an invaluable opportunity to lead a group of girls and take part in a range of experiences.

They must be aged 18 or over, be able to spare one to two-and-a-half hours per week during term time and will be given a CRB check.

For more details or to register your interest ring Sue on 01934 822412.
