Volunteers required to help during lunches and trips

A CLUB dedicated to providing fun and friendship to disabled adults up to the age of 60 is on the look-out for more volunteers.
The Notable Club has been running since 1983, and has 55 members who meet weekly for lunch and a chat, as well as going on various trips.
Although many members use electric wheelchairs, volunteers are critical to ensuring those who don’t are still able to take part.
Club secretary Dina Parker helps to organise the transport and activities for the days out, as well as ensuring the weekly lunch club has enough volunteers to help with food and drink.
She said: “I really enjoy volunteering and get a lot of satisfaction from it. I also get to go to a lot of places I wouldn’t go to otherwise.
“We cannot manage without volunteers. Some weeks we have quite a few, but other weeks we have half of them.
“So having extra volunteers on our books is always useful, although they would be welcome every week. Our volunteers really are part of the group.”
The Notable Club meets every Thursday from 11am-2pm at Uphill Scout Hall in Windwhistle Lane.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the club is asked to contact Ms Parker by calling 07845 220349.
