ONE of the region’s best-loved nature trails has been tidied up by dozens of volunteers.

While hundreds of people flocked to the beach to enjoy the hottest weekend of the year so far, members of the Mendip Society headed to the Strawberry Line for a litter pick.

In all 36 volunteers, representing various community groups including Spartan Explorer Scouts from Sandford, joined in the clean up between Congresbury and Axbridge.

And Sandford Station provided welcome respite for thirsty volunteers with drinks and food on offer throughout the day.
