A VETERAN fundraiser is appealing for volunteers to help out with a charity walk from Bristol to Weston’s Grand Pier.

Tony Hall will be raising funds for the Afghan Heroes charity with the 22-mile walk, which will start at the statue of Neptune in Bristol city centre on February 9.

Mr Hall has raised hundreds of pounds for the charity since it was set up in 2009 to help members of the armed forces and their families.

He said: “The charity has just opened its first post services facility in Ashcott near Glastonbury and the money we raise will help former armed forces personnel rebuild their lives.”

He is looking for helpers to collect donations ahead of the walk, and has asked for anyone interested to contact him on 07510 682706.
