CREATIVE people from around Weston are being sought to put together a programme of events in the town.

Weston Arts Social Enterprise (WASE) has put out an appeal for volunteers as it looks to put on events including a choir festival and an extreme sports festival in the town next year.

WASE director Terry Gilbert said: “We have been working hard to put together a portfolio of events that will really fire the imagination and enthusiasm of Weston’s residents, whilst at the same time, encouraging more people to visit and stay in the town.

“All positions, at this stage, are on a voluntary basis but we hope to be able to offer some paid positions once funding and sponsorship becomes available.”

The not-for-profit organisation will coordinate the schedule under the umbrella title of Weston-super-Events.
