Walk for disease awareness

ANOTHER memory walk is being organised to raise awareness for dementia and the Alzheimer's Society.
Walkers can choose between a 12km course or a shorter 1km stroll, with both starting at Brean Leisure Park in Coast Road.
Another walk will take place on Weston’s Grand Pier on September 14, with both sponsored to raise funds for the society and awareness of dementia.
The charity have put out a request for volunteers to assist on the day, with setting up and registering walkers, marshalling the route and giving out medals at the end.
Dania Shaw, community fundraiser for Devon and Cornwall, said: “Being a Memory Walk volunteer is a fantastic way to support Alzheimer’s Society as the money raised will help us to continue vital services for people with dementia today and search for a cure for tomorrow. It’s also a really nice way to meet new people, plus it’s a great day out.”
