BREAKTHROUGH Breast Cancer was the cause as 22 women battled high winds to walk from Weston’s Grand Pier to Uphill Church and back for the charity.

Organisers of the event, held on Friday, hope that more than £2,200 was raised, and say that they are already planning a similar event for later in the year.

One of the walkers, 31-year-old Tamara Ellis, said: “We’ve all got people who have been affected by breast cancer. It was absolutely brilliant on the day, we hope that everyone pays up and we’ll have raised a lot of money.”
