A SCHOOL which is encouraging its pupils to walk to school has been given money by the Government to continue its work.Blagdon Primary School will be able to build a shelter for parents at the entrance to the school thanks to the cash from the Department for Education and Skills.The school already runs a scheme where parents can park in the car parks of The Seymour Arms and The Live and Let Live in Bath Road before walking with their children the rest of the way.Grandmothers, mums and dads also run Walk on Wednesday where children can join a 'walking bus' led by grown ups.Blagdon is one of 54 schools in the district to achieve school travel plan status and be eligible for a grant.Headteacher Paul Packwood said: "We will build a shelter for parents when they walk to school with their children."We aim to get more and more children walking.
