PLANS have been unveiled to open a children's indoor play centre in an empty warehouse in Weston.

Bridgwater resident Mark Stone has submitted a planning application for the 850sqm facility next to the railway line in Winterstoke Road.

The centre would be open seven days week and parking for up to 40 vehicles would be provided.

The site was previously used for furniture storage, but has been vacant for the past two years.

The application, however, has sparked concern from one town resident.

In a letter to North Somerset Council, Jo Price, of Bronte Close, said: “Winterstoke Road is a very, very busy road and there is no safe place for children to be able to cross the road safely.”

A decision on the planning application is expected next month.
