THE sense of community spirit in Yatton could be lost if shops keep closing, said the parish council chairman.Faith Moulin is worried about the number of businesses closing or threatening to close around the precinct.Councillor Moulin said: "The owners of Pullars Hardware shop have both died and the shop is empty, the greengrocers is also empty, the video rental shop is about to close and Jean's Stationary is also up for sale."This could leave us with only a travel agent, a hairdresser and a pharmacy in what was once a thriving centre to the village."This is a real shame and it is really important that local people support their local businesses. Otherwise they may wake up one day to find Yatton has no small shops of any kind and they have to go to Clevedon for everything."Shops keep community spirit alive. It's where people go to meet people and have a chat as well as to buy things.
