Warning over doorstep scam

BOGUS doorstop sellers are conning residents by offering illegal pre-pay keys for their electricity meters.
The fraudsters are pretending to be from the providing energy firm and are selling £50 keys for the price of £25.
But the keys are not genuine and customers will end up with a second bill from their provider for the energy used, meaning they will get charged twice.
Weston MP John Penrose is highlighting the scam, along with major energy companies and Customer Focus.
He is urging anyone who is suspicious of what they are being sold at their front door to contact police.
