THE annual charity wassail at Rich’s Farmhouse Cider in Highbridge is returning this Saturday (Jan 15) after being snowed off last year.
Wurzels tribute act band The Mangledwurzels will again take to the stage at the event, which has been organised by Burnham Rotary Club and will raise money for the National Blind Children’s Society and The Gateway Club, having raised more than 2,000 for charity in 2009.
The event, which is one of the traditional wassails held to scare evil spirits from the cider orchards, starts at 7pm, with Bob Darch Music onstage at 8pm and the Mangledwurzels following them at 9pm, with a licensed bar open until midnight.
