15.50, 03.09.07 - BIKE thieves in Burnham and Highbridge could get a nasty shock if they end up stealing a covert police bike.
The bicycle looks like any normal pedal bike and it will be left somewhere in the area.
It is fitted with specialist equipment and if stolen the bike can be tracked to its location and hopefully lead officers to the thieves.
The scheme is one part of a plan, formed by Police Community Support Officers in the area, to reduce bicycle theft and encourage residents to be more security aware and get bicycles properly marked.
