AN EVENING of entertainment at Weston Social Club raised £3,500 for Weston Hospicecare.
Bristol cover band Choker provided the soundtrack for the night, which featured live auctions and prize raffles with generous donations from local businesses.
The event on November 8 played host to a variety of fundraising activities which included sponsored body waxing, head shaves and ice bucket challenges.
Event spokesman Lynette Preston said: “A fantastic amount was raised by the social club, which could fund the running of our in-patient unit for a day.
“Members chose to support Weston Hospicecare as many of their close friends and relatives have utilised the charity’s services, emphasising just how many lives we touch within the local community.”
