Archant

WESTON woman Stella Bird dusted off her wedding dress which has been hanging in her wardrobe for six years – not to walk down the aisle but to support her employer’s chosen charity.

The 27-year-old wore her dress all day on Tuesday during her shift at Mothercare in the Sovereign Shopping Centre to raise money for Save the Children, which the store is supporting as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.

Stella, of Corston on the Oldmixon estate, has so far managed to raise more than £200 through the wedding dress stunt, and certainly attracted a lot of interest from bemused shoppers.

She said: “The customers were a little bit confused but their reaction was great and they were very supportive.”

Stella thanked everyone for their support. To donate to the cause visit original.justgiving.com/stellabird
