Weekend burglary prompts police appeal

A BURGLARY investigation is being carried out by police after someone broke into a house and fled the scene at the weekend.

The incident happened at a property in Yarbury Way, Locking Castle on Saturday at about 4.15pm.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary have said it is unclear if anything was taken at this stage and the offender fled the scene when disturbed by the keyholder.

Police would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time, who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously, to contact them on the force number 101 quoting crime reference 79198/14.

Officer are also appealing for the owner of a white Volkswagen transporter van, with partial index BD06 or similar, to contact them.

The vehicle was seen driving off from the top of Diamond Batch around the time of the incident and it is thought the driver may have information which could help with inquiries.
