Managers of a Weston-super-Mare charity shop which had a painted window smashed by vandals are calling for an artist to create a new design.

The Animals Asia shop, in West Street, was targeted some time before 5.30am on September 9.

The window was smashed, causing an estimated £600 of damage.

An artist had painted the window with a bear design when the shop opened in 2012, but this will now have to be removed.

Matt Wright, South West manager for Animals Asia, said: “Other than there being lots of glass everywhere, luckily they didn’t damage anything else.

“It’s massively unfortunate they smashed that particular window.

“We are hoping to find another artist who will help us out by painting something for free.”

Anyone who would like to offer their help can contact Matt at mwright@animalsasia.org.uk or on 07803 410587.
