Weston-super-Mare’s first balloon launch and ‘night glow’ which was due to take place on Saturday, has been postponed due to poor weather conditions.
After cancelling the balloon launch due to weather forecasts predicting 20mph winds - 10mph over the safety limit for ballooning - the choreographed ‘night glow’ has also been postponed.
Weston-super-Glow has apologised on Facebook, saying: “Unfortunately the balloon launch, planned for Saturday at 2pm, has been postponed due to easterly winds affecting the direction of the balloons.”
This afternoon, (Thursday) the event’s organisers took to Facebook again, saying they hope early postponement will prevent any inconvenience for those planning to attend.
