A WESTON business has sponsored a racing driver who will compete against more than 40 other car enthusiasts.

Howards Honda, in Hildesheim Bridge, is supporting Tim Maddocks for the saloon car racing season, which begins at Castle Combe Race Circuit in Chippenham on Monday and lasts until October.

The 39-year-old bought his own car, a Honda Civic Type R, and this will be the second year he has raced it.

Tim, who lives with his 29-year-old wife Amy and their two sons Austin and Morris in Portishead, took part in speedway for many years before moving onto car racing.

Lee Hunt, of Howards Honda, said: "We have known Tim for a while and decided we would help him this season. In return he is helping us by advertising the business on his car.
